Plans for today (2025)

Make biscuit dough to bake some and freeze some. I was buying those frozen and don't eat them fast enough. When they start drying out they don't rise all the way and are more like baked biscuit domes instead of fully risen biscuits.
I got one of those food saver machines last year, maybe I will try that when I get time and freeze them.

It's 10 a.m. and I am drinking tea. I plan on leaving for work by 11 which is really early for me, LOL! I have to drive to Reynoldsburg (near Columbus), then up to Ashland and Mansfield, and then maybe Medina if I have time. Busy day!

I thought of that too since I have one but since I don't eat a lot of biscuits probably not worthwhile. I figure the flour for a batch is ≈ 50 cents, real butter ≈ $1, and ≈ 25 cents for the buttermilk, the foodsaver roll, 6", is around 70 cents. I'll make a full batch today and see how many biscuits I get and scale it accordingly. 👍

How was the trip home?

I enjoyed every single second in Italy although the weather has been a bit mischievous 😌🌤️🌦️☀️🌨️⛅

I am in Cork now, happy to be here of course, despite the rain ( gosh looks like November, how long have I been away?? 😂)
I am up since 5am this morning and after a 2 hours 1/2 flight and 3 hrs 1/2 by bus from Dublin to Cork, I start feeling slightly tired 😥

Plant everything in the garden except the watermelons. Ozzie trashed my toes trying to "herd" me; flippin' dog slams his hips into anything with legs so we'll see about managing the shovel...

Probably be another several days before I can plant the watermelons. If I plant them early, before the soil is warm enough, they'll stop growing.

The plan for today is to drink all my beers while they are still cold.
2 days of no sunshine is creating havoc with my solar system.
I'm off grid (not a prepper or so, but because there just is no power in my rural area).
So I'm naking the best of it and hoping for some sunshine tomorrow.

You'd not do well with our climate over here. We get to see the sun about half of the year. During the winter it's cloudy most of the time and the sun will come out for a few hours here and there, but there are times where it's cloudy for 10 days before that happens.

Going to my great-niece's 1st birthday party. Now I dearly love her parents, but they are a bit ridiculous sometimes. They hired a party planner and caterer for this party. It's a 1-year-old, really? She's not going to remember any of it, what's the point? But we are going. After that I will probably swing by Aldi for a few things unless the parking lot is full, then I will promptly swing out of there and go home!
