Well, I definitely fit a walk or two in. I shall elaborate:
One thing I have zero tolerance for is driving in overly-developed areas. I have no patience for driving a hundred feet, sitting at a light, driving another hundred feet, sitting at that light, into the parking lot, back out, sitting at the light, driving a hundred feet, sitting at that light, pulling into the next parking lot…it’s aggravating.
When I know I’m going to be in that situation, I’ll park my car once, then just hoof it to all my errands, so today, I parked at Lowe’s, grabbed what I needed in there, then walked a block, crossed the 4-lane main road, across that parking lot to McDonald’s, ate lunch, walked all the way across their huge shared parking lot to Kroger, picked up a single bag of groceries, then walked 13 minutes up to the post office, took care of that, then the 15 minutes back to the car…
…only to find I no longer had my keys!
Figured I most likely left them at the post office, but I didn’t want to walk there and back again, especially since I had to be home for a 2PM meetings, so I called MrsT to come bring me a spare key…only she didn’t answer.
Waited five minutes, figured I could cut some time off walking back to the post office if I dodged behind buildings and all that, so I headed back, made it in nine minutes (had to dodge some ne’er-do-wells along the way), and yes, they had my keys, then I walked back, again avoiding the baddies, and finally made it home. I also got to see a deer and a ground hog.
So that’s my steps for today and then some!
