Plans for today (2025)

Well, I definitely fit a walk or two in. I shall elaborate:

One thing I have zero tolerance for is driving in overly-developed areas. I have no patience for driving a hundred feet, sitting at a light, driving another hundred feet, sitting at that light, into the parking lot, back out, sitting at the light, driving a hundred feet, sitting at that light, pulling into the next parking lot…it’s aggravating.

When I know I’m going to be in that situation, I’ll park my car once, then just hoof it to all my errands, so today, I parked at Lowe’s, grabbed what I needed in there, then walked a block, crossed the 4-lane main road, across that parking lot to McDonald’s, ate lunch, walked all the way across their huge shared parking lot to Kroger, picked up a single bag of groceries, then walked 13 minutes up to the post office, took care of that, then the 15 minutes back to the car…

…only to find I no longer had my keys!

Figured I most likely left them at the post office, but I didn’t want to walk there and back again, especially since I had to be home for a 2PM meetings, so I called MrsT to come bring me a spare key…only she didn’t answer.

Waited five minutes, figured I could cut some time off walking back to the post office if I dodged behind buildings and all that, so I headed back, made it in nine minutes (had to dodge some ne’er-do-wells along the way), and yes, they had my keys, then I walked back, again avoiding the baddies, and finally made it home. I also got to see a deer and a ground hog.

So that’s my steps for today and then some!

So at Midas, they told me that the last person who changed my oil tightened the drain plug so tightly that it caused the leak and to remove it will likely strip the threads. I called the corporate claims department for the quick oil change place and filed a claim and gave them the address and phone number (and manager's name) of Midas. Claims will pay for the repairs, so made an appointment for Thursday for Midas to fix the problem. Midas said I am fine to drive around to work or whatever for several days (or longer) but I would rather just get it taken care of now. I have been a customer of this Midas for over 20 years and they have always done my oil changes over the years with no issues. I had a coupon for that quick oil change place and was also in a hurry that day because I had work going on. Never going to that quick change place again.

So got my e-check and a little work done and was home by 4:30 pm.

Benadryl makes me sleepy. Have you tried loratadine? It doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier so won't make you drowsy. It says on the benadryl box to not operate heavy machinery...
Been using it for 3 weeks and now it's lost effectiveness. Looked it up and that happens so back to benadryl for a week and then try again. I want to take one pill once and not one several times.

Technically that nut has a torque setting but I'd bet money that nobody changing the oil, at least the last guy for sure, knows what it is. 😮

I have a prescription for loratadine but it's sold OTC as well. When I develop a tolerance I have my GP switch me to citirizine since both are 1 pill every 24 hours. I alternate between the 2 as needed. I will take benadryl at night before bed sometimes to help me sleep.

My husband is doing much better but is experiencing new aches and pains as the more serious injuries to his ankle and knee are improving. He's really lucky he didn't break anything (I am not sure if he doesn't have any hairline fractures and still think he should get checked out, but he won't). He is able to put weight on his feet now but is limping and it still hurts.

Tomorrow is my birthday. I turn 63! Taking it easy tonight, working tomorrow for a little bit then Wednesday all afternoon. I know I said I was going to take some time off, lol. I did take the weekend off at least. I'll pick up takeout sushi tomorrow night. We were supposed to go out for dinner but thats going to have to wait a few weeks until DH' can walk.

I find a few large drinks send me bye byes.
