Breakfast at the indoor market yesterday. First choice (rice soup at the Thai stall) and second choice (fish dumplings at the Chinese stall) didn’t happen as they have both decided to focus on their lunch trade and not do breakfasts. Spanish tapas stall obliged with bacon and egg sandwiches.
 
Why is it called biscuit ham?
Because it goes with (American) biscuits! Biscuit ham sandwiches are very, very common where I'm from, even sold in fast-food restaurants.


I should also point out, this is dry-cured country ham, not a sweet ham. Very salty. Here's some info, if not familiar with the style:

...and you can't make red-eye without country ham grease!
