Mardi Gras - from the French. The idea was to eat up all your goodies before fasting (in Lent).

I know. I grew up not far from New Orleans and one of my uncles was a riverboat captain on the Mississippi river who had an apartment there. This may come as a shock to you, but I don't live under a rock!

Unfortunately I have the fever my husband had this weekend so pancakes have not been made. Maybe the coming weekend!
