Thai fruits (previously Purple Mangosteen)

I've got that to come, I've written off doing anything with fruit after reading the plant ticket. It'll prolly be just a talking place in the fruit bowl. Anyone else have a fruit bowl??

Russ

Its the leaves which are the gold dust - wonderful.

My wife uses the juice (what there is of it) for her hair. I have no idea why. Some old wives' tale no doubt.

I think the peel can be dried - in fact I believe I have some but can't find it - then used to infuse the lime flavour in dishes (I don't think you eat it).

Extremely sour mango with a spicy chilli dipping sauce!

[Edit : why did I think it was pappaya?]

Do you mean sour or bitter? Why do the two cut ones look so different from each other? Maybe you could pickle it with chillies.

Bitter. Or they could be either - I'd been drinking bitter lemon.

When my wife brought them yesterday evening I thought they were olives (they were in a plastic bag). One is cut lengthwise and the stone is still there. The other is cut crosswise through the stone (unintentionally).
