Are they tasty?

Bitter sweet I would describe them. Reminds me a little of grappa.

My wife came home with these today. She calls them "fish egg grapes". I cannot imagine that they are Thai. I've not come across them before. They are fairly uniform at c. 12 mm diameter.

As is dragonfruit. These white variety were around 10 bob/kg. Red would likely to be double. I don't understand why, they taste the same to me.

Do they taste anything like gooseberries?

Yes, they do taste a little like the English ones. Harder flesh but with an inedible stone in the middle. Perhaps more sour/bitter than the unripe English gooseberries.
