For folks celebrating US Thanksgiving this year…what’re your plans, your menu, your memories?

We’re going away this year, a rarity, traveling (driving) six or so hours to North Carolina to spend Thanksgiving with MrsT’s middle sister and her family (three nephews and their various partners and kids).

I’m planning on making a big batch of my apple hot honey cocktails (which will also be my first challenge entry), a savory cheesecake (which I entered in a previous challenge), and sweet potato (American) biscuits, and even a small batch of those as gluten-free, first time doing that, but one of the niece-in-laws has celiac sensitivity, so trying to keep her included in everything.

Let’s hear your plans!

at home, two kids+ spouses . . .
being a real geeky sort I do a spread sheet of when stuff needs doing - avoiding the "oops I forgot to . . . "
the action times are exported to a homespun computer program - which beeps at me with the text reminder.
one enters the "sit down to eat time" and the spread sheet calculates backwards based on the offset time....

We don't do Thanksgiving in the UK and I don't think anywhere else but the USA celebrates it. But we all love to see recipes posted and toknow what your plans might be. Is it turkey all the way, across the pond?

A few restaurants over here do a Thanksgiving dinner, since the petroleum industry was basically founded by US companies like Exxon, Phillips and Conoco, to name but a few. Not really a big thing, though.

Do you celebrate it yourself? I know one of your sons in in the USA so I expect he does.
