I'm okay with cilantro, since, as TR said, there is a lot of time.

Now, I probably won't enter anything because I have that gene that makes cilantro taste like soap.

Ah - that would be fresh coriander (cilantro). What about ground coriander or coriander seeds? To my knowledge they don't have the same issue.

The seeds are okay, I guess. I've never noticed any soap taste from seeds. But, then again, I rarely use coriander seeds.

I can tell my ground coriander is really old by the look of the label. It's two or three manufacturer's designs old. It looks kind of retro. :laugh:
 
After further thought I've changed my mind. Olives are my new choice. Everyone has some form of olive in the pantry or fridge.

An excellent choice! There are one or two people I've come across who don't like them but in my experience, most good cooks love them. I certainly do.
