I have a quote from the electrician. He's going to upgrade my electrical distribution board, increase power, and create separate circuits for both the induction hob and the water cilindre.

My power outlets are grounded, but they're connected to the water meter. He's not concerned about this because the water tubes are old and not made of PVC. My building's electrical system isn't connect to the ground either, but he's going to leave everything ready so that I can connect to the main earthing electrode if the building ever gets one. It's not going to be as expensive as I planned which is good.

Never seen it before, but just tried it.
Got it.

Well done! I got today's one too, in three 'steps'. But Its the first time I got one in 5 days (which is how long I've been playing it!). Its good that there is only one puzzle per day. Problem for us is that its US spelling, which is probably why I didn't get 'humor' the other day.

It was very common in the past to connect the ground to a main water line that went underground. Nothing wrong with that, as long as the pipes are steel/copper. PVC indoor plumbing is illegal in my city. Only PVC sewer pipes and PVC outdoor irrigation pipes. Pipes under pressure are copper or PEX.

Thanks.

I was conscious of the US spelling issue.
Despite (or perhaps because of) my dyslexia, I've always been good at word games. Perhaps because I couldn't spell as a child, I'd make words up, such as "ejog".... don't think of it as Ee sound, but the e you get for edge.

Scrabble is one of my favourite games but hubby has had to be taught how to think how-to get more points... he isn't creative so I generally only get to play against the computer which to be honest is boring. We do have super scrabble but a single game will take all day (points will run into 4 figures each though). I must buy a new Waddington's Scrabble board. Our old one has gone missing and I miss it.

I love scrabble too. Chess is another of my favorite games but I've no one to play with. Hubby will play scrabble with me but he cheats (looks up words in the scrabble dictionary before playing the word, LOL).

The printed NYT crossword puzzles get more difficult as the week goes on, withe most difficult being the Sunday puzzle. Is it that way with Wordle?

I love both too. I was a very good chess player in my youth (played in a team and knew all the openings). I'm out of practice now. I do play against my computer sometimes.

I don't think so. Its a simple puzzle, you have to guess the 5 letter word and you have 5 steps to get there. The answers are quite ordinary words. For example, today's word was:

ulcer

I was on the chess team at school as well! I used to play with one of my older brothers, until I started beating him every time we played, LOL.

My wife and I love kimchi, but have never tried making it from scratch. Is it hard to do?
Super easy, barely an inconvenience. 😁

I make a HUGE batch of the "sauce", break it into one cup portions and freeze it. That bit takes a bit of time, after that it's just cutting, salting, and using the sauce. You can begin eating after a couple of hours. :)

I use the master recipe from Mangchee. This one.

I was playing with psycoho-poodle, with his only toy -- a tennis ball. He loves to fetch the tennis ball. I usually sit in my office chair and throw it into the home-theater loft, or over the edge down to the living room on the first floor. Sometimes, he starts running before I throw it, and I bounce it off the floor behind him and it goes into the loft, over his head. I have throw it pretty hard to bounce on the carpeted floor and get any distance.

Well, tonight he started to run, I threw the ball hard where it should have been behind him, but he stopped at the same time. I beaned him on the back of the head. The ball bounced straight back at me.

He let out a small yelp, turned towards me, and looked at me like "WTF?"

He got over it right away, and we went back to playing.
