Wedding cakes were a sucess but I will have to update with more details and pictures etc after our holiday to Cornwall. Only one day to get unpacked, washed, cleaned etc and repacked!

I was wearing slippers so no worry about cut feet but I did have to close the door to stop our cat getting in and cutting her paws.

I wondered what had happened to you @SatNavSaysStraightOn. Get well soon. Window beds are the best - I had one when I was in hospital and asked for the window to be left open all the time to let some fresh air in. They had to put screens round my bed to stop the other patients freezing during the night.

Thanks everyone. I'm still in hospital sadly but it seems that physio are serious about getting me back on my feet and are talking about an in-patient rehab session as well so we will see what happens. Right now they are expecting to see me again on Monday morning, so I'm still in and in for the weekend. I'm glad the next couple of competitions/challenges/cookalongs have a good time of them because it could take me a while to get home again. I'm not so certain I'm going to get chance to cook a vegan chicken Kiev sadly which is a shame because I had a few ideas for a vegan one...

Greengages in the greengrocer's this morning...hurrah. I am a dog (well, hound-duck) for greengages. When I was a mere youth, we used to get quite a few for nothing because one of our neighbours had a greengage tree in their garden. A substantial part of this tree hung over our side of the wall and they were happy for us to have the fruit on our side.
I haven't seen those for decades!

Are you able to do knitting? I found that was a lifesaver when I was in hospital for three weeks.
Re the challenges, no-one has joined in the Cookalong: Chicken Kiev or even said that they are intending to!
Obviously, I will have a go, but I hope I'm not going to be a Cookalone!The Recipe Challenge: Sausages is doing well with quite a few entries already. I've yet to write up and launch the new Spice Challenge.

I rescued a peacock butterfly that had flown into the alleyway at the side of our house but couldn't get back out, it sat calmly on my hand whilst I carried it out, beautiful
