High today at 5:00 a.m. 72 degrees f. 67 at 7:00 a.m. Overcast - misty rain. Very damp.

A curious vision today during a visit to Edinburgh. Just near Haymarket station, we espied a fellow who had - wait for it - matching turquoise hair and skateboard. He wasn't especially young, either; I would guess late thirties. Unfortunately, or perhaps luckily, this apparition cannot be brought to you in photographic form as no camera was to hand.

I had a hospital appointment today. Instead of changing buses on the way home, I carried on on the first bus and had a mooch around before doing a bit of food shopping. It seems we do have another Japanese restaurant, about four doors down from the African one, and the old fusion restaurant is now a Co-op supermarket.....

I was really sad to hear of his death. I think he was a great cook and a very interesting man.

I have planned the remainder of the beef stew for this evening with roast potatoes. Suddenly the weather's gone balmy (or barmy) and it's now 30 degC again!

Seems to be much colder down your way overnight SNSSO. I've put my house plants outside and was a little panicked but the lowest we've had is 4 degrees C.

We are having a foggy start today but the sun is struggling to come out.
