Snowed heavily this morning but soon thawed when the sun came out :sun:

Bitterly cold now and the roads and pavements are starting to ice over.

I have deemed it necessary to pull out my gargantuan Icelandic wool jumper from the wardrobe and wrap myself in it. I got it in Reykjavik some years ago for about 75 euros, much more than I usually spend on clothes, but it's a beast.

I bought a wooly hat from there a few years ago, my head is the only thing warm

A very strong biting wind out there.

I've had my electric fire (a warm air stove type) on its lower setting 24/7 since Tuesday morning. Most of the time it has been keeping the house at 18C/65F, but when I go to bed, I still have a blanket, a duvet, and 2 throws on the bed. At the moment I also have 4 animal skins, very much alive animal skins :D, on there as well. I think they dislike the bitter cold even more than I do. It hasn't snowed since early Thursday morning, and it is a little warmer tonight though (32F/0C with a feels like temp of 19F/-7C), but I am not holding my breath. Later on today (Friday) it is supposed to be getting colder, with more snow. The cats are all indoor cats, and the mutt has showed no sign of wanting to go out, other than into the garden, since his very short walk on Tuesday. That was the last time I've been out too.
