I've realised that this weekend is my last weekend living in this house.

I've also realised that I might be buying a new (second-hand) 4x4 tomorrow. A 20 year old landcruiser compete with all the extras including roof tent and roof water tanks. I will finally have transport after 2 years of wanting it.

I thought you'd taken the trikes with you!

I have the trike and all 6 bikes with us, yes. But neither road we have lived in, or are going to live on are bike friendly. Plus camping in Aus is more off-road and with a 4x4 we'll be able to explore further. (it's a land cruiser). Plus I need some kind of transport now with my doctors staying where we live now. It's an hour from here to the new place and most of that is on roads with a 100 or 110 kph speed limit, except for the dirt roads which don't have an advisory speed limit.

Overcast but not cold here, gallops race meeting starting here in half an hour so I'm having a few bets on the nags. I'm following a guy I've known for years who trains a few here. The tracks only a 2 minute drive from me so I may even go over to watch a couple of races. It's 11.30 am here ATM.

Hope you get to use at least one of them soon.

Well we've bought the landcruiser... It's 20 yrs old, exceptionally well looked after and loved by owner... There's a few bits to be sorted on it which they are getting done for us (new discs and pads, plus exhaust needs anchoring up properly) and they'll get it the equiv of its MOT for us and we'll pick it up in a couple of weeks when we've moved house. It's fully fitted out with roof tent, shaded awning, water tanks in roof, sitting room under sleeping quarters and fridge etc plus there's 2 additional seats (to make 7) which have never been used... And all the other stuff that comes with it etc. Off-road tyres are brand new all round and so on. It runs well, is dual fuel, handles well and has other features not expected like electric sunroof, new stereo system to bluetooth to phone, CB radio, plenty of extra lights and so on...
