Sexist comment alert: yesterday 3 firemen turned up as our company has flagged up as a place of interest due to the nature of our business. They are going to call back and arrange a walk around so that if we should have a fire they know what they will be dealing with and where the access is (the factory has only been here since the war!)

I would be more than happy to show them around  :whistling:

Just don't offer to help handle the hose.

Just did an online shop and tried to buy some tagliatelle, as our local Co-op seems to have given up selling it. Out of stock.

Hmm. Of course, it might just be coincidental, but is this an indication of panic buying?

Here, you can't get toilet paper, there, it's pasta. I think I share the priorities of your populace more than mine. :)

Yep. For some reason people think pasta can combat corona virus.

I was in the room at the time, I suspect Lu forgot about that, being surrounded as she was by three chunky firemen in full uniform.

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I was in the company of Meg, the violin player with The Echo Collective - a Belgian string ensemble. I will say no more, but we are even.

Oh yes Meg in her short skirt.

A statement from the British government:

"Our policy of doing absolutely nothing is working very well, as evidenced by the mere 373 cases of coronavirus in the UK. This total is a fraction of the number seen in countries like Italy, France and Germany. This also demonstrates the good sense of our decision to leave the EU. It is entirely predictable that incompetent foreigners cannot cope under pressure.

Should the situation escalate, we will maintain our current policy until the situation becomes serious. Only then will we escalate our emergency plan, which is uncontrolled panic. "

Is it a true or fake statement?

The US doesn't mess around with all that preliminary BS - we went straight to the uncontrolled panic phase.

Now excuse me while I go wrap myself in toilet paper and speak to my wife only through text messages!😲
