I was really angry at work today.
One of the guys at our place M is on the sick-we know he is playing the system-anyway he contacted the company hr manager and complained that he had been short paid due to 'errors in the accounts dept' so my boss and I-the accounts dept reminded our hr manager that M's sick note ran out on the 4th of October but his next 1 started days later so there were 4 days without paperwork to cover his time off, this was raised on the Monday after and hr repeatedly messaged him but he didn't respond, so payroll came around at the end of the month, no paperwork so he didn't get paid for those 4 days. He eventually sent another sick note after payroll was sorted, so, no, it was not an error in the accounts dept, it was his error for taking so long to sort out his sick notes and for ignoring hr. Damn cheek
