Good morning all
I'm in the doghouse, yesterday evening I got very very drunk. This was only the second time in 23 yrs Mrs B has seen me. I watched my beloved Liverpool FC destroy those southern girly's Crystal Palace FC 0-7 and got carried away in the arms of Plum Brandy.
Morning Morning, have you started early " and got carried away in the arms of Plum Brandy."Cherry Brandy... blimey. Of all the things to choose to get drunk on...
I just ran the conversion to Fahrenheit. 21C is perfect weather! 14C is good sleeping weather -- cold enough, but not too cold.
CD
It's coming up 2 pm and I'm still wearing jeans, jacket and woolly scarf.
It's 23°C!
I have beef stew on the stove.

And a very good morning to you!Good morning all
I think its perfect too but Yorky has left his Yorkshire roots when it comes to climate.
I've worked in some pretty cold places in Europe in the past but having now acclimatised myself to the normal temperatures of South East Asia, 21°C is chuffin' chilly!
The average electricity bills for the expats that I know locally appear to be in the order of ฿3,000.00 to ฿5,000.00 per month. My current bill is ฿888.00 reduced from c. ฿1,400.00 in the summer. Air conditioning is the main culprit but I don't like being cold. There are guys who set their aircon at 15°C! I would get frostbite at that temperature!
I don't think I have asked you before but do you get the UK pensioners winter fuel payment of £200 in December like I do.?The average electricity bills for the expats that I know locally appear to be in the order of ฿3,000.00 to ฿5,000.00 per month. A little window into my mom's brain:
She went to the doc yesterday for her shingles. Doc refused to treat her.
Why? Because he'd earlier told her she needed bloodwork done, and she ignored him three times this year and didn't get it done, because she doesn't like getting lab work done. So he looked at her records, and told her, "Until I see your bloodwork, I'm not treating you beyond some general tips about OTC treatments. Get your bloodwork done and come back."
Why doesn't she like getting bloodwork done? Because most of her indicators are out of whack...way out of whack. Cholesterol over 500, A1C around 10, blood pressure through the roof...so she just prefers to ignore it.
When she does get it, like she will this time, her doc sets up a treatment plan and...she immediately ignores every bit of it. She thinks all medical people are crooked and so she'll go online and follow some quack websites and do things like pay for special restorative tea that cures/prevents cancer, or rubs grapefruit peels on her feet to manage her blood pressure, or other stuff equally looney.
She's the only person I know who's been fired by her doctor. Think about that, bearing in mind that healthcare in the US is largely for-profit...her previous doctor, after several years of going around and around on this with her, dropped her and told her to find someone else, because he was tired of being completely ignored.
What's worse, she goes to the doc for a problem, refuses their advice, gets worse, then badmouths the docs for not helping her. She doesn't see the connection.
