Now that I am 50 I can have a flu jab
I didn't know that! I thought it was 65. But in fact I've never been invited to have one and haven't had flu for at least 40 year maybe longer. I just don't seem to catch it. Could be famous last words...

If you never had a flu, don't even think about getting the vaccine. I was 16 when I had my first and last flu shot, doctor decided I should have it because of my allergies. Well I had never had the flu in my life and I had my first flu just the year after that! I had the flu again two or three times after that.I didn't know that! I thought it was 65. But in fact I've never been invited to have one and haven't had flu for at least 40 year maybe longer. I just don't seem to catch it. Could be famous last words...

Yes! And I did have a (normal) reaction to the vaccine. The day I had the shot I woke up in the middle of the night all sweaty and with a massive headache. Went to the bathroom to wash my face, got back to bed and thankfully I was fine the next day.Awful isn't it? Never felt so ill before in my life
It's great you have a new boyfriend LissaC, well deserved. Hope you both have a brilliant New Year! Can he cook?Me and my boyfriend will be writing our wishes for 2021 and put them in a box. When the wishes come true we'll take them out of the box. Hopefully many of them will come true.

What do you mean? Isn't the flu different from Covid? I don't get where this is going. My sister has had the first of two Covid shots (first responder), and the only side effect was a sore arm.
Unless a certain percentage of people get the Covid vaccine (I believe 70-percent), we will not achieve that coveted "herd immunity." So, the way I look at it, it is not a choice I am making for ME, it is also a choice I am making for everyone.

They are both viruses. But "where this is going" is that the Covid vaccine has been well tested, and found to be safe and effective. What do you mean? Isn't the flu different from Covid? I don't get where this is going.
So we're no longer free to express our opinions and people don't have a mind to think critically on what is being said to them? Following your line of thinking, is the HIV virus similar to the flu and Covid? Have I expressed my views on the Covid vaccine on this forum? Do you know what they are? Let's leave it here. They are both viruses. But "where this is going" is that the Covid vaccine has been well tested, and found to be safe and effective.
Your comment, "If you never had a flu, don't even think about getting the vaccine" motivated me to make my comments. Only a Medical Doctor should tell someone not to get the vaccine.

Can you just explain how you went from the flu vaccine to the Covid? Did I mention the Covid vaccine here? Don't think I did. Can you tell what's my opinion on the Covid vaccine from my comments?Yes, you are free to express your opinion, and I am free to express mine. That's what we both did. I don't see what the problem is. Are you mad because I challenged your opinion? My comments were not a personal attack on you. Please don't take them as such. You stated an opinion, and I stated an opposing opinion. That's all.
