I like touching things that I buy, beyond the basic commodity items.

My sister buys almost everything from Amazon, as do my next-door neighbors. I make maybe five Amazon purchases per year.
That’s how I am, ordering online is a last resort for me.

Case-in-point, I’m about to order some Windex outdoor window cleaning pads online, after driving to Kroger, Walmart, Ace, Target, Meijer, and Menards looking for them. Even regular items, I’d rather just get them in-person if possible.

I didn’t really drive out of my way, as I was going to those areas anyway.

I like BB&B, but I didn’t shop there a lot. I did find things there I couldn’t find anywhere else, though, like my Oxo mini salad spinner, my Dash hand mixer, and a couple of other things.

They have a good selection of OXO products. I think I got my mini-spinner there, too.

I bought my KA Mixer there. It was a display item, so it had no box and was missing the whisk. I paid 75-bucks for it, and ordered the whisk online, so I basically paid 100-bucks for a brand new KA Mixer.

They also have Yankee candles for a lower price than the Yankee candle store in the mall.

Wow. I went to a B,B & B back in November, with my son in Cinci. I could have spent days (and thousands$$$$) in there quite happily. I'm like caseydog on buying kitchen stuff. I mean, how can you buy a chef's knife, or a frying pan (skillet) if you cant pick it up, feel the weight, etc?

I watched a fascinating YouTube video about the 1997 Jarrell, Texas tornado. It was an EF-5 tornado that hit one small town neighborhood, and killed 27 people. I already know a lot about it, but did not know the story of the "Dead Man Walking." That is an old Native American description of certain multi-vortex tornados. Those are usually very strong tornadoes. The EF-5 tornado that hit my SW Ohio town in 1974 was a multi-vortex tornado.

Anyway, there is an old NA saying, "If you see the deadman walking, you are about to die."

Here are a couple of photos that illustrate the phenomenon, the first was from Jerrell. I don't know about the second.

The weather was so sunny in the weekend with 68F/20C, now we're back to rain and not more than 55F/13C. It's either cloudy or rainy, best year for farming while Spain is turning into a desert

The BBC are reporting that Fox have dumped Tucker Carlson with immediate effect .

Perhaps with their share price down and advertiser disquiet they have realised at last that there are consiquences to employing a lie spouting conspiracy theorist and giving him air time.

Yes, FOX has "agreed to separate" from Tucker.

The down side is that the late night comedy show writers will have considerably less material to work with.

Funny how, on the same day, Don Lemon is fired by CNN:

Don Lemon fired from CNN, ‘stunned’ by how he found out

How much fun would it be if they decided to team up and form their own news program? It would be so obnoxious (since they both are), and I would expect them to end up in a fist fight by the end of every episode. I'd watch that.

My wife was shocked to hear Bbb is no more. She must shop there.
Blue skies and a nice autumn day here.
20 deg c expected high

This just in... on his final show last Friday, Tucker Carlson had a Pizza shop owner on, who delivered to Tucker his requested sausage and pineapple pizza.

Now we know why he was fired.
