There was a 30 minute window between us leaving the bikes and the security measures kicking back in, and in that 30 mins it got nicked.
The hotel offered to report it to the police but it won't get the bag back and it will just cause us a load of hassle filing a report, plus there will undoubtably be the lecture about leaving possessions unattended which I wasn't in the mood to listen to so I left it at that.

The receptionist said they have hardly any crime in the area as the national police training school is just across the road and they have approximately 200 police officers there all the time!

On the bright(ish) side there is a 'Decathlon' shop a five minute walk from here so I won't be going back into the mountains tomorrow in just flowery summer troos and a leather jacket 🥶 😂

Just could not sleep last night (again), so got up late, but managed to cook a cake, I was adapting an old recipe I had for chocolate, and spent some time tossing up what I wanted with the chocolate. It's cooling atm, so will post a pic when I can cut it
