I made the mistake of going up the motorway to Gloucester. Parts of it are very exposed. The visibility was shocking low.
The car wasn’t fun to drive at all. Even at very low speeds the traction control warning light that lets you know your slipping came on many times and I could feel the vehicle sliding.
Normally in a field I’d enjoy that sensation, on a busy motorway not so much!

Mr SSOAP said “Are you sure you want to take the long route back?” I replied “You might have slept the whole way there but I can assure you I was mostly sweating, so yes it’s the long way back!!” 😂

We have snow coming our way, which really isn't so much of a problem.
I have my "C-Store" well stocked and s shovel at the ready.
WELL!
Normally, DH & I take turns shoveling the driveway, just in case we needed to get out.
Now that he's a full fledged heart patient, he's not to be doing that, at least that's what he's read 🙄

Yea, my mother has taken that approach as well. She barely leaves their (small) apartment now.
 
Oops. I'm a hand down for the next few days.

We heard a ruckus going on outside on the verandah early afternoon. Hubby didn't respond (I was studying) so I did. There was screaming, squawking, hissing and all sorts coming from there. I rushed out and left my left hand behind trapping it in a slamming front door. Unfortunately the nail side of my hand found the metal of the door lock and was forced heavily against it by the shutting door.

There were some initial swearing, but I made it to find my broody chook with 2 native Rosella in her cage. She was attacking them defending her food and space. They were trapped unable to get out the way they came in.

It was then the pain caught up with me. Blood everywhere. 2 fingers were just saved by the fact the fingernail went across the metal part of the door lock, but my big finger wasn't so lucky. Sutures, bandages... I've still got my hand on ice and all 3 are throbbing.

Luckily the exam stuff I need to do this week is all oral presentations. The writing side is those is already done, phew. I've got 2 weeks to recover before the first exam.

Thank you.

Something in the index finger is still 'catching' or clicking when I straighten it. It feels like something (probably a tendon) isn't pulling/pushing through its sheath cleanly. I'll give it some time.

With the exception of the immediate cut area on the middle finger, that is pretty good all considered.

I just need to check out what damage I did to the door and clean up any blood in the lock area. :laugh:

I dunno a bloody hand print on a door frame could be good for keeping visitors away :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
 
My husband has just put his car keys in the fridge.

He says it is so he doesn't forget to pick up the post that's in the fridge

(rabbits have started dying with all the signs of haemorrhagic fever, so a sample of a liver from a very freshly dead rabbit is being sent to a lab). They sent us a kit.

I've told him I'll break the news to his parents gently.

I'll also add that I find rechargeable batteries for the garden tools, lawnmower and such, so not small batteries here, in the fridge as well. You can't recharge them when they're hot. So he puts them into the fridge. :o_o:

It's a good thing I'm understanding.
