The General Chat Thread (2025)

Did the site have any reviews? I'm always wary as regards accurate colours in a shops photo's, and also accuracy of sizing.
I'm definitely an 'I want to try it on' gal, so I mainly stick to bricks n mortar stores :)
Ditto.
Lots of good reviews and some pics showing it nicely fitting quite different body shapes so fingers crossed.
It is a British brand ordered online from a bricks n mortar shop 👍
If it doesn’t fit I’ll take it back to the shop and find something else in there. Hopefully.

Problem with motorcycle jackets is they need to fit closely to keep the armour in the right place to protect you in an off and being made of thick leather they have to be a good cut on you for you to be able to move and breath easily when lent forward with your arms outstretched.
Not ann easy garment for them to make for everyone.

Oh I appreciate the importance of good biking clothes. when younger I had a boyfriend with a bike. Tho sadly I never actually had biking clothes (I was just out of school). I particularly disliked the frozen kneecaps in colder weather 🥶
I did many miles as pillion passenger, including going from South Wales to his relatives in Birmingham.

I couldn’t do it without good gear cos I get cold very easily so I own quite a selection to cover the various types of weather you have to endure. At least most of your body was protected from the weather by your boyfriend 😆

Thinking about it I might have to lose weight cos I don’t want to fork out for it all again in another size 😮
Damn I was about to have plate of wings for a snack 😂

Wine and DIY Sunday

I've had trouble getting motivated today so at 4pm I thought well it is Sinday (deliberate typo) so I'll allow myself a little glass of wine in exchange for one job, just one, pick one.

So I did.
I can report back it's best to leave the wine until AFTER you've finished the job.

It turned out alright in the end

but it took a bit of undoing and redoing due to missed washers, spacers going in the wrong way round, labels ending up upside down 😂

Can't say I haven't enjoyed wine diy but I can say you need to allow a fair amount of time for it 😂

Just ordered a new motorcycle jacket.
In my own deluded way because I’ve never put weight on ever in my life (apart from when pregnant) when I finally did about a year or so ago I kind of thought it would just go away of it’s own accord 🤪

However my motorcycle jacket is tight. Tight enough that it looks bad and isn’t comfortable to ride in.
As it’s 1000 miles to Spain I had no choice but to face up to being uncomfortable or buying something bigger, which is preferable to doing any of that hideous dieting stuff!

‘Aged yellow’ apparently. Hope it fits!

Now off to find a nice scarf to go with! I’m thinking yellow silk 🤔
We want a pic when you get it, on the bike too. 👍

ooh, where is that from, I've thought about a room divider thingy to hide my pc before, but never saw something sensible at a reasonably sensible price.
With my latest furniture move at least the dangling wires are hidden by the sofa, but I do regularly get completely blinded by the sun in summer as I face the window 🙈

I’m afraid it’s amazon 😬
It’s a german company and is for the money very well made.
This one is going outside cos the outdoor kitchen has one side facing the lane and theres a big ol’ hole in the hedge near it so the tanker drive can fill our tank from the road.
Trouble is walkers stop and stare through it which was fine when I wasn’t in the frame but now I feel like I’m on display just by having a cup of tea out there 😂

I’ll find a link 👍

Edit: QUICK STAR

ty, but no need, I don't use amazon, I'll stick with pulling the curtains a bit to stop being blinded
Maybe one if those two in one blinds would suit you?
My boys have them in their flat. I’m quite taken with them.
This is the sort of thing.
It can be fully closed to block all light or one pull opens the blind to half blind and transparent strips (you can’t see in or out but you do get the daylight coming through) and a full pull puts the blind right up.
