Post your Instant Pot experiences here.
This isnā€™t the thread for disparaging remarks about unnecessary kitchen gadgets from folk who donā€™t own one (oh no no no), it is a thread for people to post their experiences of these mini multitasking marvels whether good or bad.

Itā€™s confession time from me. I have the Crock Pot version of an Instant Pot which Iā€™m fond of (although still very inexperienced with) and this week bought an actual Instant Pot mostly to consolidate other kitchen equipment in to one appliance, this new one air frys, sous videā€™s and pressure cooks.

Yesterday was its maiden voyage making ā€˜egg bitesā€™ and I very much enjoyed it.
Next up is probably steak using the sous vide setting.

Do you have one?
What are your favourite dishes to cook in one?
What do and donā€™t you like about it?
Post your ā€˜Instant Potā€™ recipes here.
I have had my Instant Pot for more than 8 years now, and I love it! It has saved me a lot of time, and the food turns out exceptional if you know the right cooking time for the dish. I usually use it to make things that would otherwise take hours, such as the Snow fungus sweet soup (a Chinese dessert) that normally takes 3-4 hours with traditional cooking methods, or braised beef brisket with radish.

Interested in the Snow Fungus Sweet Soup.
Got any pics or a recipe/recipe link?

I like to make corned beef in my Instant Pot. And long cooking stuff in the summer when I don't want to heat the house up for hours.

I haven't measured the ingredients for the recipe yet, but they include snow fungus, dried lily bulbs, cane sugar, dried goji berries, and water. I can share my recipe next time I make the dessert soup. Here's a photo I found from the past (a bit blurry). I like adding a bit of milk to the leftovers after refrigerating them overnight. This dessert soup is considered a beauty soup :)

Interesting šŸ‘ It has a bit of a crĆØme caramel look to it.

A Disapointapot!

I was very excited to unbox my new instant pot for Spain.
I spent time researching before landing on this model. I liked it for the large wide inner bowl, you can fit a 24cm (approx 9Ā½ inches) dish in there which would be good for baking lasagna etc and the wider base means itā€™s better for sautĆ©ing and air frying.

Teaspoons in there to give a little perspective.

One of the known faults for this model is the lid not releasing. So I made sure I bought it from a bricks n mortar shop (as I try to with all electrical items).
I opened the box to be greeted by two separate pieces of paper saying how important it is to do a test run without adding any food to ensure itā€™s working properly.
This set off alarm bells so I diligently did just that. Half filled it with water and set it to pressure cook on high with quick release as instructed.

Over an hour later the display was still saying -

Which you canā€™t open anyway as it automatically locks.

This is the known fault and quite a fault it is!
Took it back and they will have a new one for me tomorrow morning.
So yer wonā€™t be taking it to Spain because if I pay for a seat to take it out there and it packs up Iā€™ll also have to pay to fly it back!

Instead Iā€™ll keep it here and that way it will get the extensive use it needs for me to see if itā€™s another faulty one and Iā€™ll take out my loved and trusted instant pot thatā€™s not let me down once.

Heyho.
