Hey it was the "hot soup" topic of the day! It happens. It's honestly not a big deal, I was just confused and wondering if I did something wrong. 😕
I hope Heinz tomato soup is better than the Campbell's. But you Brits seem to like Heinz products a lot, seems like the breakfast beans are Heinz and isn't there some sort of salad cream where Heinz is preferred?I have definitely eaten Heinz tomato soup with toasted cheese sandwiches. And I dipped them in the soup. It was an easy cheap supper for my kids.

The only one of my kids who likes the tomato soup and cheese sandwiches is my oldest (I've no idea where she got that). The others preferred chicken noodle soup (no dipping going on though).
My mum always used to serve tomato soup with grated cheese in it. She used to put cheddar in, but we've found (before my body decided it didn't like dairy anymore) that any cheese you like works really well and small diced lumps were best.I can see it work, but I would eat tomato soup with bread (toast, baquette, roll), or
I like their other products quite well. I am certain it is wonderful compared to Campbell's!This wasn't Campbell's it was a different brand

And it was creamy and delicious.
I saw a basil tomato creamy soup at a restaurant somewhere that sounded like it might be okay. I didn't order it, LOL. I wonder what something like that would taste like with mozzarella? So if people were doing grilled cheese and had a decent tomato soup, then added basil, wouldn't a mozzarella grilled cheese taste better? My mum always used to serve tomato soup with grated cheese in it. There a notI know you experiment with making all kinds of non-dairy cheese, do any of them melt?
Not even cold soups? Not something I'd even contemplate, to be honest. However, the last time I ate soup was probably 40 years ago..
