Tomato soup and...

And what about your plantain soup, lentil soup, or leek soup?
Yes - the almond soup was for the CB Recipe Challenge.
The others - I just posted the recipes. It was probably my wife and/or son who actually drank the stuff.
We shall be seeing in the New Year with lentil soup, however!

As soup is just a variety of sauce/stock perhaps it could be good or even great?

uhmmmm, , , , in my experience . . .

"soup and a sandwich" is pretty much a USA style "meal concept"

which requires more definition of "sandwich" - if expanded to a "USA open faced" concept . . .
aka soup & "stuff-laid bread" . . . gets more interesting.

What is this about tomato soup and toasted chees sandwiches?
I've seen it a couple of times now and it's not a combo that I am familiar with.
I can see it work, but I would eat tomato soup with bread (toast, baquette, roll), or a toasted sandwich. Not together
Actually the combo started in the 1950's. There was an old song in the 1950's, sung by Frank Sinatra, called 'Love and Marriage". Campbell's Soup changed the words to "Soup and Sandwich" for their commercial. It became an instant cliche. Campbell's Tomato Soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. The power of the media worked - those of us born in the 1950's or later all grew up on Soup and Sandwich.

I don't think I can post links, but if you google it, both songs arre on you Tube.

I believe you're fine posting links here. Asking SatNavSaysStraightOn to double check? I'm not sure if people in other countries would be able to find them easily.

There's no reason I can think of that would stop you now. Before it was simply a case we needed to approve them. The worst that will happen is that we'll have to approve the post for you, but that's fine.
