What’s the next kitchen item you plan to buy?

How much did that cost, may I ask?
Not that much considering the rising cost of food. This year the seeds are free, I've spent $8 on fuel for the tiller, I'll need $20 for fertilizer, the rest is time. 🤗

If we get a bumper crop of tomatoes this year, I might get one. Last year my DH grew them in pots and the yield was small. The problem with our land is it's nearly a forest in the backyard with a canopy of trees and shade, which is nice to look at but not good for growing. The front flower bed was transformed several years ago when there was no longer enough sunlight out back to grow food and at first we had several tomato plants, peppers, and herbs growing in that flower plot and had more tomatoes than we knew what to do with. Last year my DH wanted to grow some flowering plants in that bed and they didn't do well, so maybe this year he will allow it to be used for tomatoes again. Sure hope so!

I'll be growing 3 types of tomatoes this year. 3 plants of Big Beef, 2 Roma for Mom, and a Mortgage Lifter. Curious about the Mortgage Lifter since it grows toms up to 2 lbs. 🤪

I bought it last week. I haven't had good luck with the Nespresso machines. My first one was De Longhi. It performed well but lasted less than 2 years. It just quit working one morning. It was expensive so I opted for a cheaper machine as a replacement. It was Brestpresso brand, the same model as some of the Nespresso machines at half the price. Terrible machine. It clogged after only 1/2 a dozen brewings. I named it the Gotta Clean Machine. The De Longhi is now upwards of $200 so I bought a Hamilton Beach for $130. So far so good except it won't fill my 5 oz glass on the "lungo" setting. It quits 3/4 of the way to full. A minor inconvenience. If this one doesn't do the job I'll go back to manually brewing espresso.

Sounds like my coffee machine endeavors. Keep spending...

I settled on this...

I got mine in 2013. You?
I don't know, it was some drunken Jazz Fest or French Quarter Fest timeframe (I don't do Mardis Gras). Ah, I miss the smell of stale urine in the streets and the sound of garbage trucks backing up in the wee hours of the morning, me and my crewe still tipsy from the night before (and probably still awake from the night before).

I finally broke out my chopper gadget I bought last year and used it to cut up onions, celery, and carrots for my chicken soup and more onions for the crockpot (AKA slow cooker) spag sauce. It's a pretty handy gadget and has grating, mandoline, etc. features. It's super easy cleanup (basically just rinses clean), which is why I bought it. My food processor will do all that but it's a PITA to clean. And no crying over onions. Yes, I wash my onions, and no, it doesn't help. I have to practically close my eyes to chop onions with a knife, which probably isn't a very good idea...
