Do you not think the dariole moulds may be a little deep? I remember two things about my wife's Yorkshire pudding tins - They were shallow and they'd never been washed since my grandmother bought them in the 1920s (I think). Unfortunately I cannot find similar tins to fit my halogen.

Good point. They might be too deep - I will find out! I'm on another seaside mini break at the moment but will try it when I get back.

 

[Wandering Bob]

A "pain au châtaigne" - a chestnut-flour flavoured loaf. The third that I've made in recent days. I've really no idea whether pain au châtaigne exists - perhaps it does in Haute-Provence or in the Rhônes-Alpes.

Crispy skin pan sauteed/oven roasted chicken thighs, asparagus steamed and drizzled with a bit of butter, potato, onion, fennel gratin.

Great plates, roast chicken breast with roast veges and corn on cob. Pepper sauce for final touch. Was very nice. I keep forgetting to take a pic.

Craig made his sausage gravy to top Alton Brown's recipe of biscuits he made up. He also had a couple of fried eggs on his plate. I cut up the watermelon and washed the blackberries, whew so much work!

Lunch today. I'll tell you what it was when I work out what was ordered but it was all from the vegan menu.

This afternoon we went to our local garden centre for coffee and cake before going to see the reindeer

Went to the restaurant supply place today. They had wild caught, dry pack diver scallops. Picked up a pound. Crudo prep with citrus juices, hot pepper, garlic, S and P. Seared scallops on a simple risotto finished with lemon zest and juice.

Honey roast ham, cauliflower cheese, peas, English mustard and some grass.

Linguine with mushrooms (brown) and black garlic (plus sweet onions, regular garlic, fresh basil, and Parm R). Vegetarian as os, vegan if you don't use or substitute cheese.
