Boudin Balls..sounds like an inflammatory disease
That’s what we’re having tonight, and in recognition of the oft-mentioned “special relationship” between us and our British friends, I’ll call them “baked jacket potatoes.”You people are way more creative than we are. In America, when we bake a potato, we just call it......a baked potato.
Boudin was traditionally made with pork liver. Craig made a traditional recipe. I refused to eat any more than 1 bite, and honestly spat the 1 bite out.Boudin balls aren't scary really, the ones I had weren't too spicy. I am not a fan of liver so that's my only objection to them. Since they have so many other flavors in them it balances it out a bit but it's still detectable. Not my favorite but not bad.
The balls are rolled in breadcrumbs and deep fried. I will eat just about anything if it's deep fried, LOL! Huge weakness of mine, though I stay away from it for the most part. And there are better things to eat that are fried. I suppose my favorite thing is Southern fried chicken. I only eat it once a month or less, though.Boudin was traditionally made with pork liver. We lost power at 4PM, so we went out to eat, just to a local Mexican place.
The food is fine, but I really like the people who own and staff it, very large extended family from Mexico, and they’re opening a second restaurant (and I think they own a third one in the next town over), always very friendly.
No pics, but I had a giant burrito filled with shredded beef, refried beans, and rice, and covered in a red sauce and a cheese sauce. MrsT had some kind of chimichanga thingamajig. She had some weirdo margarita (tequila, amaretto, and Grand Marnier I think), and I just had a beer.
