Oh, sorry. J. Kenji-Lopez-Alt - used to work for Cooks Illustrated and Serious Eats. Has a new book about wok cooking. Bought it on vacation to read while my kids were swimming. I'm no pro at wok cooking or really asian food in general, but it is good.

J Kenji López-Alt, often known simply as Kenji, is an American chef and food writer. He is kind of like Alton Brown, in that he has a somewhat science/art approach to cooking. but leaning more to the art side than Brown. He has a book out called The Food Lab, Better Home Cooking Through Science.

He has a brand new book out called The Wok. It's 658 pages! I had to buy a wok (which cost less than the book)
I need to check him out. Its funny how many American chefs/food writers are simply not heard of in the UK and vice versa, I suppose.

Ok, so today at home I'm attempting to make a red velvet cake using beets, never make one before and with a beet glaze to go with the blue cheese ice cream I made a few days ago, probably candied walnuts for garnish. This is for the restaurant menu basically. Cheers.

My husbands birthday is friday and because we have no time next weekend his birthday dinner out was tonight. He wanted to go to our friends Italian place.
