What did you cook or eat today (April 2022)?

I had an Italian-American classic, sausage and peppers sandwich tonight. I have a few more cooked up for lunches this week.

Italian sausage, cooked on the grill (bbq), topped with sautéed bell peppers and onions, on a bun. The bun was a hot dog bun, because the hoagie rolls I bought a couple of days ago turned into a science project very rapidly. Still tasted good!

I have a Weber wok for my Weber kettle. It is cast iron instead of high-carbon steel, but it can get seriously hot over a pile of charcoal.

Oh interesting.

I have a HUGE cast pan that weighs 5kg empty that I use for almost everything. In fact I’m buying a smaller version for my daughter for her birthday as she’s moved out & hates SS & finds most non stick to be garbage.

I’ve made char kway tow in it on the charcoal bbq before.

We all came back from the Boat Race starving hungry.
So it was a quick pasta (linguine) with sundried tomatoes, garlic, and fresh mozzarella. No cooking, just added to the pan once the linguine was cooked and mixed in.
While I was making that, I rifled the fridge and made some bruschettas. Speck, goat cheese, truffle paste and kalamata olive, with a drizzle of olive oil to serve. The whole meal took 20 minutes.
