It's really funny because it's supposed to be a Mexican holiday but we gringos in the US celebrate it, Mexicans pretty much don't.

It's a holiday taken over by U.S. bars and restaurants within the last 40 years. I know because it wasn't celebrated here when I was younger. May 5 is my birthday. We started going out for dinner on my birthday anywhere BUT a Mexican restaurant in my 20s.

Yeah, bring on the margaritas! Only I am not much of a tequila fan. It's quite the rage with younger generations these days though. I will drink frozen margaritas occasionally, but gotta have chips and salsa with it.

Crushed ice or ice cubes if you've got a strong blender is mixed with the Margarita mix. It's a slushy drink. You can get all kinds of flavors, regular/original, strawberry, mango, watermelon, peach, pineapple, etc.

There's a famous phrase in Venezuela, which is "Entre, entre, y toma una silla". It means "Come in! Come in! Take a seat!"
.. but can also be translated as "Between, between, and drink a chair!"
Got caught with that one when my Spanish was very basic...

Nikujaga. We liked the shiritaki/konjac noodles. We'll see if they like us over the next 12 hours or so. Some people have digestive issues. Recipe had way too much added sugar though.
