Pasta, with courgette and ricotta. Perfect way to use up the garden produce.

That was the most wonderful birthday dinner. Just amazing 😍

We started off with some simple French bread, butter and camargue salt. The bread was delicious and authentic.

Then we both had lobster bisque.

My husbands main was moules mariniere ( mussels in white wine sauce ) .

He downed them all in no time, said they were great.


And for me steak au poivre, soft as butter. Also gorgeous.

Then for dessert my husband had white chocolate mousse with banana icecream and caramel sauce.

And I had Iles flottante ( floating islands) which is meringue with caramel sauce on custard. The meringue was divine, like a floating pillow.

My wife absolutely loves Sonic, second only to Steak And Shake, and for the record, my least favorite fast food burger is Whataburger.

No accounting for taste, huh? :)

So I wasn't just drunk and Whataburger is really as good as I remember? We don't have them in NE Ohio.

It might be regional, but Sonic burgers up here suck.
 
The smell of Sonic tater tots literally makes me gag. The burgers are meh. I do love the tea though.
 
Yorky we talked of beef olives the other day, I made miss 11 steak sammys last night and had a piece off steak left over, I bashed the bejesus out of it to get it thin. Made my own stuffing,

Bacon
Sage
Mixed herbs
S and p
Eggs

Here it is on a plate with pepper sauce roast potatoes parsnip and pumpkin.
Twas very nice.

I shall order some sliced roast beef from my Western Food supplier for this coming Friday. I was thinking along this line for the stuffing.......
