What did you cook or eat today (August 2021)?

My dinner last night was a honey quinoa salad, a cold salad with bacon, onions pecans and cotija cheese. The honey was in the dressing, which also had fresh squeezed lime juice. It was very refreshing on a hot day.

I kid you not, last night when I typed that, it was about 10:30PM or so, making it what, 3:30AM for you, and as soon as I posted it, I imagined you sitting bolt upright in bed and screaming "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
It sounds so funny, but I did not honestly get the Mistake?

Good to see you on the Mythos and souvlaki :okay:. Athens has it bad at the moment with the bush fires, hope it doesn't spoil your stay.
I printed off our boarding cards for our trip to Corfu in a few weeks, so looking forward to getting in a pool with a cocktail at hand.
Nice to read that your trip is taking place after all! Enjoy!

We named this Chocolache, as kolač literally means cake here and it overlaps with chocolate.
Eggless, dairyless, yep, it is vegan. I just ran the ingredients through my thoughts.
Millet, rye, spelt flour, chia seeds soaked, orange juice, vanilla, brown and white sugar, melted and chopped choc(40% cocoa),rice syrup.

It is a variation of Padhuskitchen recipe for Eggless Ragi Choc Cake, found on youtube.

It smells lovely. I will not be eating it. Kid had a piece right after halfcooling the cake. I tried one bite. It is colourful as in sensation after sensation, and soft and sticky.

We plan to buy walnut icecream to combine.

She minds the chia, so we shall see🤷😎she might give it a go though.

Hey - I hope you have a great holiday. But its stupidly hot in Athens right now. I hope you have air-con where you are staying.

The day before we left, we saw that the US government had updated the travel advisory to put Greece in red. It turns out COVID was only part of the reason: the fires were the other part of the reason. Now that we’re here, I don’t sense the presence of smoke in the air. It’s terribly hot, but there seems to be a bit of a breeze but makes it more bearable.

Going back, we have a connecting flight through Frankfurt. We were in Frankfurt two years ago, and loved it, so we are considering scheduling an earlier flight and perhaps spending a cooler day or two there. Here is the extended forecast for Athens (note that today is going to be a chilly one, LOL):
