Lunch today: smoked salmon open sandwiches.
New Year's Eve isn't much about food/dining here in Finland. People just get drunk (check), eat junk food (check), melt pewter/tin horseshoes, pour the smelt into a bucket of cold water and "tell their fortune" from the vague chunk (pass)...
...and light fireworks (pass too).
We made just hot dogs today; there's watermelon, a bag of tortilla chips and canned salsa for the evening. Sparkling is in the fridge as mom has her 79th birthday today. There is no municipal fireworks display this year, so we'll just walk to a local bar (closing for good today at 10 pm - Covid took its toll).
We went shopping earlier and bought e.g. chicken, minced beef, puff pastry, herbs and pistachios for upcoming days.

No. It's just home made Meatless Sauce with Balsamic Vinegar. Contents are Olives, Tomato, Onion, Garlic, Mushroom and a variety of Spices, Oregano, Marjoram, Rosemary, Thyme mostly.
