I bought myself a torch for Christmas! I haven't used it yet though.

When I was a kid I persuaded my younger brother to swallow a battery torch. I got in serious trouble, but it was worth it, just to see his little face light up.

I actually had to look that up, LOL. We call that a flashlight in the US.

It's not exactly perfect but I use two chopping boards, staggered one on top of the other, and use one to prevent the knife cutting all the way through the potato. Then it's just like slicing bread.

I'll get a picture in the morrow if I remember (it's late now).

I don't know the difference between Chicago deep dish snd Detroit style, but the crusts look similar. Me likes!

In part. Traditionally, baked in rectangular blue steel pans, very wet dough, so it bakes up light and airy, cheese and toppings go on first, then sauce added in stripes on last.
