Beef stock in the making. I added beef, bones (beef & pork) and a pig's heart.

Dehydrating some apples & kiwis now.

And those are the first apples I dehydrated in the test run. I'm so happy with this!
Looks good. When I was a kid, Mom would slice apples, lay them out on baking sheets, cutting boards, whatever she could find, and put them in the various vehicles at the house, and park those to catch the sun.

The inside of the car would heat up from the sun...hillbilly dehydrator!

Homemade egg Mcmuffin.

Edited to add:

For anyone who likes this type of breakfast food, it takes about 5 minutes to make. I just split the English muffin and put it in the toaster. While that's toasting, I lightly grease a small cup that is about the same circumference as the English muffin, then scramble an egg with a dash of heavy cream, salt, and pepper (I just scramble it in the same cup I am cooking it in). I microwave that for 30 seconds (should still be slightly undercooked), then put the slice of cheese and a slice of Canadian bacon on it and microwave for another 30 seconds. The muffin should be toasted by then. Assemble and eat.

I was supposed to make one Italian(-American) chicken dish, but settled on another one, and because of the last-second change, no pasta, but an Italian-inspired cabbage dish, which was meant to go with the original dish, so a bit of a mash-up tonight:

I also had the last of my focaccia as a pizza, same as yesterday:

I got everything out, including cutting up a couple of pieces of veges to remind him of sizes, and helped him remember how to cook it (no recipe), but Craig did everything else. Italian sausage with stewed tomatoes, basil, red pepper flakes, onions, garlic, mushrooms and zucchini over rotini with grated Parm R.

?? Not cucumber, it's zucchini.

When we went to grocery, I was unloading as things were being rung up. When we got home, I looked at the receipt. The zucchini were rung up as cucumbers and the beets were rung up as turnips. :scratchhead:The cashier was a mid 20s guy.

Gyros are traditionally served with lettuce and tomato in my experience. I am also used to gyros made with fresh cooked meat directly off a spit. I think they just thaw some frozen meat here. It's the only place that sells them here so there's nothing for comparison.

Food is a whole different experience for me out here (about two hours outside of Chicago). As you can tell from my posts, I can't even get common foods and spices at our local WalMart (only grocery store besides Aldi). The town doesn't support a Farmer's Market and the more organic, higher quality supermarket closed right around the time I moved here (three years ago).
I feel your pain. We moved 2 hours out of Sydney back in 2000. I used to only get to Sydney occasionally & most often by train. If I got anywhere near an Asian, Indian or Lebanese market I bought as much as I could carry.

I’m very lucky now to have the best of both worlds, working in Sydney & home to Bathurst on weekends.
Bathurst area also has a few places to buy some exotic things & the supermarkets have also come a long way.

Sorry my pasta had cucumber in it. Along with capsicum. It was made by a Chinese lady we know. She gave it to my wife for me. I enjoyed it, but cucumber???

We made these amazing Mac 'n' cheese bites, which were a winner with kids and adults alike. I always make an extra big batch as they freeze very well once crumbed - so ready for last-minute guests (or an impromptu craving!)

These remind me very much of something a friends Dad made for us one time at a weekend party at their place in my teens. He made it with spaghetti though. Mixed with cheese sauce & set it a tray. Then cut into squares, crumbed & pan fried.
So good I remember them 30 years later.
