Taco night!
I guess to each their own, I prefer cheese that doesn't smell and taste like dirty feet or dirty...umm, nevermind. I love mild, creamy cheeses. So you just go ahead and do you!My experiences over the past 3 years in Cinci bring me to the conclusion that Murray´s cheeses are... not very good, really. Their cheeses all taste very similar to me. A gouda tastes like a cheddar which tastes like an edam which tastes like a jarslberger. Fontina is bland, Port Salut is bland, and the soft French cheeses, like brie and camembert taste of disgustingly too much sweet cream, instead of that wonderful stinky pungency. Blue cheeses - not even close, I´m afraid.
Chicken is my fave..when we have ground beef we like to go with the crunchy shells...I end up eating most of it with a fork after it all falls apart...I bought a pack of 10 shells, so we still have half of them . I may have another taco night tomorrow or FridayRocklobster I keep saying that I'm going to make Shrimp Tacos for myself and maybe Mahi for DH (he's allergic to Shrimp), grilled on the BBQ, but I never remember and go with Chicken mostly. I like ground beef too but not DH.
What about chunked stew beef braised until it's fallilng apart, then lightly seared and tossed in taco seasonings? I get the ground beef thing. I love tacos with braised beef instead!Rocklobster I keep saying that I'm going to make Shrimp Tacos for myself and maybe Mahi for DH (he's allergic to Shrimp), grilled on the BBQ, but I never remember and go with Chicken mostly. Everyone in my family (siblings and parents) except me love blue cheese. My husband and MIL do as well. I can't stand the stuff.Have you tried masdaam cheese ?
Barry's bay do an amazing creamy one. It's my fave. I also like blue cheese, an acquired taste I've grown to love.
I dont know how I got to like it.?

My wife fave is risotto. I make it a lot. Next would be arancini balls. I've yet to make them.I'm in the process of making a spin on arincini balls with lamb sausage, goat cheese, fresh herbs, and roasted garlic/parmesan/white wine risotto. It's new to me in more than one way. Never even tried an arincini ball before. Tried to find an exact recipe and couldn't, so I just read over a bunch of different ones and made a hodge podge in my head of what I wanted to do, then wrote it down as I went along.
I had never made risotto before, don't know what's stopped me but I had eaten it before and thought it was pretty good. Hubby didn't like it before, but he likes the bite he tasted earlier. I think I cooked it perfectly (al dente). The thin layer of risotto is cooling on a cookie sheet in the refrigerator right now, as is the browned lamb sausage with goat cheese and herbs mixture. I shall be breading within 30 minutes or so, then the panko breaded balls need to chill for 30 minutes before frying.
I seriously just need to create a tag line stating: "We eat late around here"...
Yeah I think it is? Very fruity flavour.Everyone in my family (siblings and parents) except me love blue cheese. My husband and MIL do as well. I can't stand the stuff.
Never heard of masdaam cheese, is it Dutch? I love gouda, edam and that type of cheese very much!
