In the UK haslet tends to be served thinly sliced and used in sandwiches or in similar ways to sliced ham.
It was sliced, although not thinly. I cooked it in the shape and size of burger patties only because that was the size of the ramekins. In the past I've cooked it in a rectangular "Pyrex" dish.
I've also served it (to myself) in sandwiches with piccalilli.
