What did you cook or eat today (March 2024)?

I thought it looked good, I was referring to TR not liking avocado (I think I remember that correctly)!

I think sometimes up here in Ohio we get mediocre avocados (usually if they're the big watery variety) but a little salt, lime, and cilantro seems to help, for me anyway. The small ones have a much better flavor for sure. My FIL doesn't like avocados so my MIL rarely gets to eat them. I make her guacamole whenever I get a chance.
It did look good at first but if you look closely (and if you would have seen the other side) you can see some grey bits. It was OK really but I expect a good restaurant to take off any grey bits from my avocado.

Yes, I agree completely. Where do the avocados at the markets (and restaurants) in your country come from?
 
Mostly Mexico, some are from Africa or Peru/Chili too. I don't eat them often because of the impact on the environment.
Wow, the long distance they travel is quite surprising! I guess those are the only climates temperate enough for avocado trees to grow? I always thought for avocados to travel all the way from Mexico to Ohio was a long way, but...wow!

I think sometimes I probably send mixed messages, because I’ll like something with fish in it, or mushrooms, or avocado, but what I’m usually saying is, “I’m happy you’re happy!”

No I do the same unless whatever I don't care for is the star. And the sunshine patio was lovely, so even though you don't like avo I get why you liked the post.

I ended up throwing most everything into the meat - tomatoes, onions, and cheese. The shells were from ALDI, and compared to the big players, like El Paso and Ortega, they’re superior. They didn’t crumble at all.
 
Today I cooked :
Butter Chicken; Potatoes and tomatoes with coconut; Tarka Dal ( lentils with a crispy onion topping); Basmati rice; chappatis (simple Indian flatbreads); parathas (flaky Indian flatbreads); garam masala powder (not really cooked, more prepared); Aubergines in a spicy sauce; Gulab Jamun (sweet fried balls of milk powder and yoghurt, with a cardamom/rosewater syrup).
I'm down in the South East of Venezuela, teaching a dozen cooks how to prepare Indian Food. The bloke who hired me wants to set up an Indian restaurant here!
Fine by me. Tomorrow, 10 new dishes. Today I was delayed by the Food Photographer, because she knows how to photograph things and so we had to add oils, flowers, little toppings, etc. Brilliant experience.
Photographs tomorrow, folks, with a bit of luck.
Right now, I'm off to get a beer.

Well after grinding and actually having a lot of fun in the new restaurant for one year, I started dreaming about leaving Germany. Now I'm working on getting a Bachelor in Company economics and to move to australia adelaide.

If you're young and no ties I'd do it. Ozzy is a great country. You have to know the humour.
