We prepared the potato strips and stored them in water, so we can focus on the other things, what was a terrible idea, because the water drains out the starch. The resulting potato nests did constantly fall apart.What went wrong?
I ordered some "wild boar" pate from my western food supplier to be delivered Friday; together with a kilo of Norwegian cod, 0.5 kg of pork sausage and 5.25 kg of Australian beef fillet (only about one kilo of the latter is for me).
Ingredients.Is that from a liver or is it just a really cool venison pate made from muscle meat?
The marinade is yoghurt, lime juice, Kashmiri chilli powder and ground green cardamom pods, cloves, cinnamon stick and black peppercorns.

I know, I chose the toppings myself and also made it an Italian base. I only ordered there and not at our regular pizza place because our regular doesn't deliver and we were exhausted so we needed delivery.Looks very good, but more Neapolitan than New York City.

That Baklava was outstanding.
Now about the chicken gyros, it was good, but I got it after half an hour because of that amount of chips (delicious).

The beef fillet was delivered this morning and was 7.85 kg in total. I took about 2.4 kg (2 fillets) and left the other three to fight over the rest. It turned out to be New Zealand beef from a supplier called "Pure South" - maybe rascal knows the company? The total cost, delivered, was the equivalent of £91.50 or NZ$175.00.
The fillets are around 400 mm long and an average diameter of about 70 mm. One went in the freezer whole, the other I shall cut into steaks tomorrow.
