I think they’re the same ones Ron DeSantis has been accused of wearing*.

*For those who may not know, Mr. DeSantis shows off his down-to-earth style by eschewing dress shoes in favor of cowboy boots. It’s been suggested, however, that he’s wearing hidden lifts in them so as to appear taller.

Well, they are the same brand.

Lucchese boots are kind of the Ferrari of Texas boots. Mine do NOT have lifts in them -- and yes, it is obvious to anyone who knows cowboy boots that his have lifts in them.

You're missing out.

Even my recipe for garam masala uses a lot of cumin. I get through loads of it each year. I love cumin. It is close to being my favourite spice.

I ain't missin' out on anything. Cumin (AKA: Comino) is used in Texas/Mexican food. A little goes a LONG way. If cumin is used in that kind of quantity, that would be one of the reasons I really do NOT like Indian food.

I use it in my TexMex cooking, but measured in quarter teaspoons, at most. A little bit adds complexity. A lot ruins dinner.

I didn't say you personally were missing out. And just because I eat a lot of cumin doesn't mean I'm using a lot in a single meal. It just means it is used little and often. I happen to like the flavour.

And it's not just Indian for it is used in.

The same can be said for chillies. What is too hot and spicy for some has no heat or spice for others.

On the bright side of things, cumin doesn't trigger my asthma unlike chillies.

"2 cups of cumin" holy sheep. Cumin is really strong, 2 cups of it? I don't even use a half cup a year. Wow that's gonna be strong. But it's for 150 people, but still, I don't know if I've owned 2 cups worth of cumin in my life.
I normally carry 1kg bags of cumin coriander and fennel.. The batch I'm making will last ages, sick of making small batches . The batch for 150 ppl will only be like 5 tablespoons. The smell dry roasting fills the kitchen. Its heaven !

Okay, Puggles is missing out??? And, you did say your garam masala recipe uses a lot of cumin.

And, as I mentioned, Comino/cumin is used in Mexican and TexMex cooking -- it's even an essential spice in Texas chili. And I agree, like chilis/chiles, cumin/comino is a matter of personal taste. It is easy to overdo either one.

Talking to wife this morning she told me we are having risotto. Chicken is in the fridge. So change of plan AGAIN.
I was planning on wraps.
Still a great meal.
