And evening meal, from the airport. Sounds odd I know, going out to the airport for an evening meal but the options were much better than the hotel which whilst it did a great breakfast, the lunch and evening meal options from the restaurants were rather limited (and didn't include veg* where *=anything...)

But then the airport actually features a great supermarket as well.

Pretty obvious, from the Middle Eastern counter at the airport food court.
Hubby had the baba ganoush roll, I had the meze with flatbread. Both vegan.

A reasonable steak, the restaurant had a hotel catering vibe. Everything was fine but not great.

My husbands fish.

Sides.

Sticky date cake that wasn't sticky. Caramel sauce, coconut ice cream, banana chips and marshmallows.

The food was made up entirely by the company, however. We had a wonderful reunion 😊

Waiting on lunch:

This is the place where, a few years ago, I saw the sign from the road, pulled in all excited at the prospect of a steak-and-ale pie and a beer, and was, for the first time in my life, let down because it was mainly pizza.

TastyReuben I'm guessing that the (small?) Antipasto Salad was for Mrs. T and the Caprese Sammie & side Salad was for you?
Did you folks order any adult beverages?

I'm also guessing that without anything to drink other than water, the tab for lunch was about $27.50 before tax & tip ... for two people that's not bad for a casual sit-down place nowadays Puggles

Right now we hardly know which way is up, let alone morning and afternoon. We've flow up the Pacific coast well off-shore from Russia, actually crossing Alaskan airspace and Greenland and the north pole and then down over Norway, Sweden and into Finland from Tokyo...

We left home around 1pm on Friday... I did because hubby wasn't with it and I hate driving in major cities. Give me wilderness any day and I can navigate without issue. Ask me to cross the road in a city and I'm lost!

So it's now Sunday. Apparently it's 8:40am. And we've travelled from GMT+10 to GMT+2.

My body thinks its about 4:40pm on a Sunday (though it really could be any day of the week right now).

The next leg is afternoon.

Breakfast was brilliant and I day down with a sign of relief. A proper continental breakfast add in a European breakfast, and being in the home of Alpro, breakfast could be continental without issue.

Rye bread with plant based flora, dairy free cheese slices, melon slices, Alpro strawberry yoghurt, summer berries, dairy free chocolate muffin, coffee and much to my hubby's bafflement or bemusement, the orange juice was served using an ipad for selection!

He went around for a second course with very soft runny eggs on bread, and a banana.

He said it was the best hotel breakfast he'd had in a long time. I know the eggs were exactly as he liked them and I coughs see the contentment on his face when he tasted the first one.

I cant fly more than 12 hrs. I usually split flight to uk with 2 day stopover in Bangkok. Dont know how you do it?
