For breakfast, I had intended to do toasted garlic bread, eggs, bacon and a banana, but my bread was all moldy, so I had to settle for eggs, bacon and a banana.
Looks yum to me!Had a go at cauliflower crust pizza..it was decent, but not pizza..a lot of mess, but after a few cans, it was all ok..View attachment 61728

A really good substitute for Korean pear apparently is kiwi fruit. It contains a similiar enzyme that tenderizes the beef, and the taste profile is reasonably similiar to Korean pear. I couldn't imagine it with a vinegar flavour, despite as you say some recipes recommending using it as a substitute.I'm betting Yorky used vinegar in place of the pear/apple, as they are used partly for the tenderizing enzyme they contain. I've seen recipes that used just vinegar and can see where there would be a strong vinegar taste.
I've never made it but ate it a lot when the restaurant was open. Unfortunately she made it with Thai beef so although it was thinly sliced it was still a bit tough.
If I make a tom yam it's with freshwater prawns and chicken (tom yam khung gai).

When I was building our house we were temporarily living in a terraced house about 100 metres away and the kitchen was somewhat lacking so we ate (and drank) out most of the time. As the restaurant was opposite the new build it was very convenient for lunch.
The restaurant was also a bit "out of the way" from the main town albeit well known. I regularly came across Thai's that I knew from town lunching with their mia noys (second wives).
Russers mate do you own a firearm. If I lived near you.......![]()

I did a video a little while back making bulgogi, and was lucky as I think I sourced the last Korean pear left in town. But I was fully prepared to try the kiwi fruit option instead if I'd had to.

Two weeks off, this is their first week. They then go back to school until around 20th December, then a 6 week break.Wow. How long? Do they have a name? Fall break, winter break?
We love bulgogi and it's not vinegary. I think you got a bad recipe.
I use Bulgogi (Korean BBQ Beef). Her recipes have always been good.
Lol, used to hunt with a .308 many years ago, grandkids would kill me if they only knew. When fishing with grandkids years ago, miss 8 at the time caught a fish, I cut its head off, she screamed the wharf down and called me a killer. Didn't speak to me rest of the day. I'm not going there again.
