What did you eat or cook today (December 2024)?

Cobb salad, with a homemade vinaigrette, starting with tomatoes and going clockwise, chicken, avocado, HB eggs, bacon, brown mushrooms, cucumber, and Gorgonzola. Spring mix lettuce.

I'm waking up my starter and feeding it to definitely do something with it this weekend. I'm gonna be doing a crap ton of projects for a while. I have a month off from work. 😋

I also made a homemade fry seasoning that I'm testing. And a dipping sauce.

How much discard? From your previous feeding?
I have a cache of discard in a jar in my fridge that I use for various recipes. I just used the grams listed in the recipe. Since it calls for baking soda and baking powder, there is additional leavening so it doesn't need to be recently fed, but I don't think it matters if you use discard from a recent feeding since it's not given any time to ferment. At any rate, they were downright delicious! It's a great recipe. Sometimes stuff you find on the internet isn't always as good as they say it's going to be, LOL. This one hit the mark!
