Aren't you the clever one!OK.
I think this was probably Mission Impossible.
These are Flor de Maguey. The flower buds of the Maguey succulent - a cousin of the Agave succulent used to make tequila.
I used to have these plants in my garden, but I eliminated them all. The spines on the leaves used to lacerate my arms every time I tried to clean them.
The plant is used to make cocuy; a Venezuelan version of tequila.
The flowers are used as an ingredient in Andean Hot Sauce. Sweet chiles, hot chiles, onions, peppers, garlic and coriander leaf are macerated in MILK - yes, milk. They`re left to ferment for a couple of months, and the Maguey flower buds are added to the mixture.
I´ve also used them pickled. Simply add vinegar, salt and pepper and then pickle them.
I think Morning Glory made something like that and posted it in this thread several pages back!Yep.
I came across the photo a couple of days ago; but when I saw white tomato soup, I thought " What the heck"
It was an almost impossible picture to identify UNLESS you´d been in South America.

The beansprouts seem unlikely because it seems to be in a jar.
