It didn't make me smile recently but it did in '74 and a friend from that era reminded me of it today.

Around August time we relocated to Lanarkshire to begin the installation of 65 km of the first Frigg gas pipeline. The company, McAlpine Services and Pipelines, rented an area to accommodate the mobile homes that many of us lived in at that time.

I was required to ring my insurance company to advise then of the new location for the mobile home and I gave them the address as MSP Caravan Site, Carstairs Junction. She didn't hear me so well so I repeated "M S P, Monkey, Sydney, Peter Caravan Site".

When the revised policy arrived a week or so later the address thereon was "Monkey Sidney Peter Caravan Site, Carstairs Junction".
