BTW, is the term "cheater bar" used outside the US? In the case of the ratchets, you take a long pipe, and slide it over one of the smaller ratchets for more leverage. Make sure your ratchet also has a lifetime warranty.
only every known it as an extender... or water pipe inn my case! and it is often used...

Every tool cabinet should contain one giant screwdriver with a lifetime warranty.

I only know the term 'bar'

In my last company we had a fitter called Dave Wilson, his nickname was 'Willow' he would always over tighten bolts and nobody could release them except him. A ceased bolt was then always referred to as having been tightened to "One British Standard Willow".

Is ceased the UK term for the US term seized, or was that a typo?

The "cheater" bar in my photo is the long piece of pipe that is slipped over the handle of the ratchet. It provides more leverage, but also sometimes breaks the ratchet handle. Most tool manufacturers tell not to do it. When you exchange one under the lifetime warranty, they KNOW how you broke it, but replace it anyway.

In nearly 30 Years selling tools, I never replaced a ratchet. We sold stahlwille and teng. SK wayne occasionally along with snap on. I've stripped and reassembled motors and never used a bar on a ratchet. I use adapters like female 1/2 inch and male 1 inch
To get extra oomph.

I am sorry to see that the movie has been turned into a political issue. I never saw politics. I saw a story of an innocent man with no political issues or opinions.
The current atmosphere of divisiveness, us and them, has been applied to a movie about decency.
Decency, civility, respect and compassion have been politicized and deemed wrong.
Makes me sad.

I've never heard of Stahlwhille or Teng before now. I did a search, and they are available in the US, in fact Teng-USA is based in Houston, Texas. I don't know anyone who uses them. Pro mechanics here mostly use SnapOn tools and tool cabinets.
