Reminds of a time back in the early 80s. My wife wanted to buy a climbing frame for the kids (2) from Mothercare for £50.00. "No way" I argued, "I can build one far cheaper than that". Anyway the frame was built from pine, 2"x 2" held together with 1" dia dowell plus some 6" x 1" for the deck and a slide. It was bolted together so it could be disassembled and stored.

The following weekend when I got home from work, I found a dozen kids climbing on it!

Bejasus! I didn't have "Fairground Insurance"!

[By the way, the structure cost me £85.00.]
