What New To You Ingredients Did You Recently Obtain?

Thanks for the warning...I've had a few before, but never this one...looking forward to giving it a go..

Its a Thai curry paste - I wouldn't expect it to be super hot. I can get it here - if it is super hot let us know as I may get some!

Fresh ginger.
Loving it.
Had it semi dried, coated in sugar, was too strong.
But this is super, the real stuff, to cook with it.
I make candied ginger at home sometimes. I think it's quite good. Simple to make as well, slice fairly thinly, boil in a simple syrup, dip in or sprinkle with sugar on both sides, let dry on a rack. Much better than commercially made.

I like the idea of it.
But that one was too strong. Can't figure why. Not sure if that was a commercial one or not...
Maybe I should give it another try...you are right.
It is beneficial for immunity, coughing...

open it and take a big whiff....It's like somebody boiled a pot of eggs..

It arrived today and I opened it and took a big whiff - I thought it smelled wonderful and my mouth started watering immediately. Maybe my sense of smell is different... but then I put one crystal in my mouth. Yep - that is sulphuric rotten eggs! I absolutely trust that it will work in spicy Indian dishes and I'll be using it soon.
