What produce/ingredients did you buy or obtain today? (2018-2022)

Went in specifically to get English muffins, came out with:

Pepperoni
Half & half
Milk
Velveeta
Can of chili (no beans)
Can of chopped green chilis
Tortilla chips
Fritos

Forgot the English muffins. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I do the same sometimes. Go for buying a specific thing, then come back with everything else but that one

I have no logical explanation for this, but, I didn't picture you as someone that uses Velveeta. LOL
Velveeta has its uses. I can't remember what celebrity chef said it, but they said every restaurant kitchen has Velveeta tucked away, because if you're making a cheese sauce, you can add just a little and it'll prevent any splitting.

I'm using it for a quickie cheese dip - one of those things that's low-brow, but good: Velveeta, canned chili, and some green chilis. That's it.

I also do something similar (like caseydog) with Velveeta, Ro-Tel tomatoes, and sausage, usually for the Super Bowl.

Just had a feel around my new potatoes, a bit smaller than I'd like so I will buy a kg to supplement mine. Then that's it. Then pick wife's car up from auto electrician. It died at a set of lights yesterday. New alternator, $900 there's a lot of labour in that. Unit was $500

This is more a case of what I nearly didn't obtain today...

I'm busy, my twisted ankle strapped up, I'm on my feet, bare leg, slippers and a tubergrip on my ankle. Knackered getting ready for tomorrow so decided to send hubby to the veg plot for the fresh parsley (25-40g of leaves).
He comes back to tell me that the parsley is going to have to wait! It's being guarded It's an Eastern Brown Snake. One of Australia's top 10 most deadly...

It's taken ½ hr of 2 of us watering and beating the veg plot matting to establish it's safe to grab the parsley from the edge. Not too mention soaking the parsley and using a very long piece of dowling (2 meters long) lifting and moving the parsley around the base etc...

He just grabbed and cut the entire plant... I'm may have enough parsley...

It's the first one we've had this season. We knew we had a much higher risk than previous years because the farmer had sown a crop of wheat/rye in the field right next to us and instead cutting it, he's left it for the sheep to eat. Long grass and snakes are not a good mix. They don't like short grass, but it's only 2-3m from the edge of the field to the edge of the veg plot. And the veg plot gets all the evening sun. Sometimes, just sometimes it is safer to use supermarket veg and herbs. But nowhere near as much fun! Lol

I've got Pistachios on the list, but I don't intend on posting any Pistachio recipes. I may want to try some member posted Pistachio recipes, however. I love eating Pistachios straight up, but I'll try to constrain myself to keep 'em available to play recipes on.

My non-Challenge recipes for this month are going to concentrate on creative Granolas and Granola Bars. I love Granola, especially for Breakfast or Snacking. I likely will need to go shopping again as ideas formulate and go into effect.

I'm going to open a Granola thread and members who have ideas or recipes can link them in there. I think we all like Granola and the thread ought be productive.

Oops. I need to add Parchment Paper to my list above, in the previous post.
